This upcoming update will update the melee logic so both players trade melees and die, which should help prevent the Energy Sword from just tearing through teams without trading." Right now, if both players are no shields and they melee each other, the player with the Energy Sword will survive with a sliver of health. To help bring it in line with where we’d like, we’ll be updating the melee trade logic on the Energy Sword. "We’ve noticed that the Energy Sword can be a little too effective on maps with tighter corners. (Also, I will say, it's a nice pleasant surprise to see CGB come out so soon!) the only energy sword change made recently was they changed how sword users can parry each other they made no changes to how it can kill so i dunno what youre on To quote their sandbox blog, which they said to refer to when it came to the changes to the sword: This seems to emphasize just camping with the sword now, which is not a playstyle devs should be incentivising. ![]() With this change, people can now break your shields "trading" melee, meaning at most you'll probably only be able to get two people before you're dead, not considering just getting headshot from the first kill. Does the rocket launcher need to be changed because it can kill too many people close together? I just don't understand this change, there were already plenty of ways a user can counter someone with an energy sword (just shooting them and keeping a distance, or using grenades on your feet to bait them into an explosion).
